Shining Star for May 2022

FV Shining Star for May 2022 – Ms Luong Thi Mong Thu (Nursing – Paediatrics Ward) has received many job offers from other places, she even has considered them before; however, at FV, Ms Thu always found something special to help her continue engaging with the job and now has found joy in becoming a Shining Star.

After more than 12 years of accompanying FV Paediatrics Department, Ms Thu has mastered the work and routines of the Department, and the hospital in general. She said: “In all places, you will always find something unpleasant; however, to me, the more important thing that kept me stay here is transparency, fairness and welfare.” After careful research and consideration of other places, Ms Thu has strengthened her belief in FV.

To Ms Thu, all the jobs at the hospital come with their own difficulties. At the Paediatrics Department, most of the stress is during the patient admission, mainly from the parents. Some people are so worried that they don’t treat nurses well. For some patients’ relatives, they only let doctors handle their children’s cases without trusting the nurses’ support. Although the family later apologised, to the nurses, we still feel sad being treated like that.

However, she shared: “Children’s safety is the key responsibility and priority of nursing work. After many years, I think I shouldn’t worry about those small issues, because there are many families who appreciate the work of nursing team.” This spirit probably helped Ms Thu gradually develop the necessary skills of a talented nurse. She turns difficulties in her work into lessons and applies them to her daily practice.

Another important thing is that when working for many years at the Paediatrics Department, interacting with thousands of lovely children, the simplicity and friendliness of children also make her love her job more. “Seeing healthy, happy children, running and jumping innocently makes my job more pleasurable,” said Ms Thu. The job also helps her gain more knowledge to take care of her children, or family members. This is an advantage that nurses are proud of.

Everyone, with their work, wish to receive certain rewards, both materially and spiritually. According to Ms Thu, when the working time is sometimes equal to or more than the time she spends at home, “going to work is not about the salary only, but also about a worthy working environment that you want to devote to”. She also said that she has found learning, friendliness, safety and good working relationships at FV.

Once again, congratulations to Ms Luong Thi Mong Thu with the award of being FV Shining Star in May 2022. We wish you all the best in your future plans and hope you always keep the spirit to do your best at work, as well as in daily life.
