FV Shining Star of July 2022 – Ms Huynh Thi Chinh (Care Assistant – Medical East Ward) is a dedicated staff member who loves her job very much. Thus, being nominated to as Shining Star is a milestone in her career and brings great encouragement to her.

She started working as a pantry staff at FV in 2013, after more than 7 years, When Ms Chinh applied for the current position as a Care Assistant. She said: “I prefer jobs where I have more interaction with patients and have more opportunity to care of them. So I chose my current job.” As she loves the job, the joy reflects on her radiant smile she wears to work.

Her gentle and considerate personality made it a perfect fit for her work. Besides, she also believes that every time she helps a patient regain their health with her support, she feels much joy and peace. It helps Chinh to strive every day for better with passion to take care of the patients.

When she moved to new position, Chinh faced some difficulties, especially in the beginning. It was close to the COVID-19 pandemic period. “At that time, I had a lot to worry about, but I thought I was still luckier than my patients, so I found self-motivation and overcame the challenges”. Besides the difficulties, the job also brought her new medical techniques that supported her to better care of her family and feel more secure.

Every day, being close to patients and sharing their sorrows and joys, it helps her sympathise for the patients. “For many times, when I talk with cancer patients who are very close to the death, I have learned valuable things in life.” Working in a medical environment, it can nurture contemplative and deep feelings in a person. Sometimes, it makes your daily work more meaningful and worthwhile.
