Seasonal flu is an acute respiratory infection caused by the Influenza virus. It can cause symptoms such as fever, runny nose, cough, headache, and fatigue. In some cases, it may lead to serious complications, including respiratory failure, pneumonia, bronchitis, exacerbations of asthma or COPD. The flu can also worsen cardiovascular conditions, and other chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, or chronic lung conditions are at a higher risk of complications from the flu. In severe cases, it can be life-threatening.
Annual flu vaccination is the most effective way to prevent the flu, reduce the risk of illness, complications, and severe outcomes. It also helps manage chronic conditions such as heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, and chronic lung disease by lowering the risk of severe symptoms. Vaccination can reduce the risk of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) admission due to flu-related complications by more than 80%. The flu vaccine not only protects individual health but also contributes to building community immunity.
At FV Hospital, high-quality seasonal flu vaccines are strictly controlled, and you will receive thorough health screenings and consultations from specialised doctors. After vaccination, you will be monitored to ensure maximum safety.
