FV Hospital invests in upgrading its Maternity Ward to feel ‘like a five-star resort’

FV Hospital has invested in upgrading facilities for the postpartum area, part of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, to provide comprehensive care through pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum recovery with a level of comfort which evokes a luxury resort.

Pregnant mothers and their families increasingly trust FV for comprehensive care

The Maternity Ward of FV Hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department has 19 rooms with 26 beds in three categories: double room (standard room, with two beds), single room and VIP room. This spacious Ward has been updated with a resort-like interior design and equipped with modern equipment and utilities, including a baby care area integrated into the room, creating a cosy, luxurious space for mother and baby.

“These sensory changes will help women to feel comfortable and mentally refreshed after giving birth. We hope that when entering the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, mothers-to-be will feel like this is like a five-star hotel or resort, so that they can experience a gentle birth that feels like going on vacation,” says Dr Vo Trieu Dat, Acting Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The reception area is like a high-class hotel

At the postpartum care stage, both mother and baby will be examined by obstetricians and paediatricians, while midwives will monitor and care for the health of mother and baby 24 hours a day, paying particular attention to the baby at night so that the mother can rest. Multidisciplinary experts, such as nutritionists and physiotherapists, are on hand to assist in the care of both mother and baby. FV also offers home services which offer on-demand assistance for pregnant women and new mothers who were recently discharged from the hospital, including infant bathing and umbilical cord and wound care.

Because FV has the advantage of being a multi-specialty hospital, its Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department has the support of a system of related specialties, with a team of experts on call to consult on high-risk and difficult cases. Obstetrics and Gynaecology also closely cooperates with the Paediatrics-Neonatology Department with regard to caring for new-borns. FV’s paediatricians will monitor the infant’s overall health, and advise on vaccinations and common issues in infants.

Comfortable, luxurious and classy interior brings comfort to mother and baby

FV Hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department offers an operating room system with modern equipment and sterile conditions which are always ready to accommodate patients, should any need arise. A team of skilled, friendly doctors and midwives ensure that mothers-to-be always feel comfortable and less stressed when giving birth, and experienced anaesthesiologists provide supportive methods for painless childbirth. FV Hospital encourages pregnant women to give birth naturally, especially those who are fewer than 39 weeks pregnant, to ensure the safety and comprehensive development of their babies, and to guide new mothers in skin-to-skin care immediately postpartum and breastfeeding within the first hour of birth.

When having a baby at FV, pregnant women are also advised to apply pelvic floor exercises after giving birth, which can prevent urinary incontinence or other pelvic floor-related diseases later in life. The Physiotherapy Department at FV is led by a specialist from France who will develops tailored programmes to support the physical recovery of new mothers, including limiting pelvic floor prolapses and gynaecological diseases, effectively preventing and treating urinary incontinence, flatulence, faecal incontinence and urinary incontinence, and preventing prolapse of organs in the pelvis, such as the uterus, bladder and rectum.

There are many types of rooms for pregnant mothers to choose from

According to Dr Dat, FV currently welcomes up to 800 births every year, while the faculty can comfortably accommodate 1,200 births per year. FV’s dedicated team focuses on quality as we want every woman who comes to receive care during her pregnancy and delivery to enjoy a world-class experience that allows them to truly enjoy the magic of childbirth and motherhood.
