This afternoon, the “Malnutrition Awareness Week – Maternal & Child Nutrition” (22–26 September 2025) at FV Hospital officially concluded with two highlight activities: Food Contest “Preparing Snack for Maternal & Child” and Food Fair “Three Regions Cuisine”.
This was not only a platform that fostered stronger bonds among FV staff, but also a meaningful message emphasising the importance of scientific nutrition for overall health—particularly for pregnant women and young children, who are the most vulnerable to malnutrition.
Representing the Organiser, Specialist Level II, Nguyen Viet Quynh Thu, MD, MSc (Head of Dietetics & Nutrition Department) shared: “The teams demonstrated great dedication and meticulous preparation, presenting dishes that were not only appealing but also nutritionally balanced. We hope this will be a meaningful activity, helping everyone to better understand the importance of nutrition in the daily meals of mothers and children.”

The food contest brought together 12 teams representing various departments, who presented nutritionally balanced menus suitable for families with young children or those in need of recovery. The teams not only showcased creativity in cooking and presentation but also demonstrated their dedication through lively video presentations.
As a result, the Jury awarded prizes to the outstanding teams as follows:
- First Prize: Nursing– Surgery West Ward
- Second Prize: Quality Department – Compliance, Nursing OPD
- Third Prize: Nursing – Home Care, Medical Department, and OPD Department
All of the contest dishes were then shared in a buffet, creating a delightful feast for hospital staff.

At the same time, Food Fair “Three Regions Cuisine” brought to life a wide range of distinctive flavours from across Vietnam through 15 colourful stalls, all prepared by FV staff. The lively and cosy atmosphere of the event not only fostered a spirit of sharing and togetherness within the FV community but also conveyed a meaningful message about the diversity, safety, and scientific approach to daily nutrition.

Through this vibrant series of activities, FV aimed to strengthen internal cohesion, enhance nutritional knowledge, and reaffirm its commitment to supporting patients and the community in comprehensive healthcare. While the week of events has concluded, the message of healthy eating, proactive care, and safe medical practices will continue to be promoted by FV, accompanying each family on their journey to building a healthy life.
Earlier, in September 2025, FV also launched a number of meaningful community-oriented activities: a CME Ưorkshop (13/09) that brought together over 170 healthcare professionals to update knowledge on obesity management and sleep apnoea; Patient Safety Week (15–19/09) in response to WHO’s theme “Safe Care for Newborns and Young Children”; and the “Tea Talk with Doctors” programme (20/09), which provided nearly 30 expectant mothers with valuable insights on modern and safe labour. This series of activities, together with Nutrition Week, has strongly promoted the message of healthy eating, safe and comprehensive medical care for mothers and children. |
