Le Dinh Phuong, MD, MSc, Head of General Practice & Family Medicine Department at FV Hospital, recently served as session chair and speaker at the Hanoi International Cardiovascular Conference 2025. Held on 16 August under the theme “Connecting Cardiology Community”, the conference brought together more than 1,500 local and international experts and featured 232 scientific presentations.
Co-organised by the Hanoi Cardiology Society and Hanoi Heart Hospital, the event was recognised as one of the year’s most important academic forums in the field of cardiology. In addition to chairing a session, Dr Phuong delivered three highly practical scientific presentations on primary healthcare.

The presentations all focused on transferring the latest advances in cardiology into practical knowledge to physicians working in conventional cardiology. The content revolved around the close connection between the heart, kidneys, and metabolic disorders, highlighting the importance of early detection and timely intervention. In addition, an individualised cardiovascular risk stratification approach was introduced to help build preventive and therapeutic strategies tailored to each patient.
He also delivered key cardiology messages that are readily applicable in clinical practice, supporting frontline doctors in adopting the latest medical advances to improve community-level cardiovascular disease management.
With accessible content grounded in scientific evidence and clinical experience, Dr Phuong emphasised that comprehensive cardiac care should go beyond diagnosis and treatment. He highlighted the need for a continuous approach that combines prevention, early detection, intervention, and long-term follow-up, all guided by evidence-based medicine. This message aligned with the theme of this year’s conference: building a multi-tier cardiovascular care network and strengthening connections between healthcare providers at all levels and the community.
Subsequently, on 23 August 2025, Dr Phuong also spoke at the 3rd Vietnam Atherosclerosis Scientific Conference in Ho Chi Minh City. His presentations attracted considerable interest from colleagues, particularly given the increasing prevalence and earlier onset of cardiovascular disease. Notably, he introduced a completely new field: the application of polygenic risk scores in cardiology, a major achievement of precision medicine.

The multidisciplinary model linking cardiology, nephrology and metabolic care has delivered significant benefits to patients at FV for many years. Supported by evidence-based protocols, as well as investment in human resources and specialised equipment across each relevant department, this model continues to enhance the quality of cardiovascular patient care.
The participation of FV Hospital’s physicians in prestigious medical conferences reflects the hospital’s consistent academic engagement and strong commitment to knowledge-sharing within the medical community, with the ultimate goal of improving treatment quality and fostering a truly comprehensive healthcare environment for the community.
