To help patients and their relatives recognise and manage dangerous cardiovascular conditions early, such as stroke, and myocardial infarction heart, Dr Tran Nhan Tuan, Deputy Head of Cardiology Department at FV Hospital, has provided information on three common warning signs to watch out for:
- Warning Sign 1: Feeling chest tightness, such as a heavy pressure on the chest, or tightness in the lower sternum, and bouts of pain which often repeats, lasting about 10 minutes, are signs of a heart attack.
- Warning Sign 2: Fatigue and sleepiness during the day, could be a sign of a lack of anaemia in the heart, lungs and brain.
- Warning Sign 3: Showing signs of cold sweats, tiredness, dizziness or sudden dizziness, may be signs of the heart rhythm disorder, Atherosclerosis, which can cause the brain to be vulnerable to anaemia.
If patients encounter any of the above symptoms, they are advised to check with a doctor as soon as possible. For further prevention, the best approach is for patients to be active and regularly undergo cardiovascular screenings each year. The reason being that if patients wait for their body to show its own warning signs, the disease may already have serious complications.
Due to its advanced equipment, such as its imaging system and Interventional Catheterisation Laboratory, coupled with its experienced team of doctors, FV’s Cardiology Department is fully prepared to help patients detect and treat their cardiovascular problems.
