Dr Luong Ngoc Trung graduated as a Medical Doctor from Hue University of Medicine in 2001. He then pursued higher studies, including a Master of Science in Medicine and Resident Physician Training in the specialty of General, Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, at the same university.
In 2014, Dr Trung earned a Certificate of Thoracic Laparoscopic Surgery at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, before completing a CME of Endovascular Repair for Aorto-iliac Aneurysm (EVAR) course at Cho Ray Hospital in March 2015.
In addition to his domestic training, Dr. Ngoc Trung has also participated in many professional training courses abroad. He achieved the Certificate of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Rangeuil Hospital, Paul-Sabatier University of Medicine, Toulouse (France) in 2007 and Certificate of Aortic and Peripheral Endovascular Intervention from The Prince of Songkla University of Medicine (Thailand) in 2013.
From October 2015 to November 2016, Dr Trung took an advanced training course in Cardiovascular Surgery at Pierre and Marie Curie University of Medicine (Paris 6) and completed an internship as a Resident Physician at Pitié- Salpêtrière Hospital (Paris, France). Meanwhile, he also obtained a Certificate of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and Diploma of Cardiovascular Surgery and Endovascular Intervention from Pierre and Marie Curie University of Medicine (Paris 6).
Before joining FVH’s Vascular Surgery Department, Dr Ngoc Trung was a cardiovascular surgeon and Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at Tam Duc’s Cardiology Hospital. He also worked at Hue Central Hospital as a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon from 2006 to 2010.
Coupled with his professional experience, Dr Ngoc Trung has always been a keen researcher and contributed papers to a wide range of publications, including The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Pathology Cardiology and Thoracic Surgery (2009) and Endarterectomy for Carotid Stenosis: Early and Long-term Follow-up Results after 10 years (2007).
