From 17th to 18th May 2017, Adj Assoc Prof Edmund Wong, Deputy Medical Director (Clinical Services), Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), will be offering consultations and treatments at FV Hospital’s Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery Department.
At SNEC, Dr Wong is also Head of the Surgical Retina Department, and of Retina Centre and Senior Consultant, General Cataract & Comprehensive Ophthalmology Department.
Dr. Wong is a specialist in treatment for retinal conditions, such as advanced proliferative vitreoretinopathy, retinal detachment, vision loss due to diabetic complications and macular degeneration. In addition to retinal conditions, Dr. Wong is also widely recognised as an experienced specialist in treating cataracts via phacoemulsification or intraocular lens (IOL).
Dr. Wong has over 20 years of experience in his field. He obtained a Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) degree from the National University of Singapore in 1998. In the same year, he obtained a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr Wong completed his fellowship with the Vitreo-Retinal Service in Singapore National Eye Centre in 2001 and an advanced Vitreo-Retina fellowship at Beetham Eye Institute, Joslin Diabetes Center, Harvard Medical School, in 2003.
