FV Hospital is taking action in response to Vietnam’s National Non-Smoking Week from May 25-31, 2016 and World No-Tobacco Day May 31, 2016.
“Stop Smoking for Better Health is the message FV Hospital spreads out in order to encourage people to stop smoking to protect their own health. The message also urges individuals to enhance the sense of responsibility towards themselves and the community, and to join hands in broad efforts to reduce the dangers of smoking on health and the environment.
FV Hospital has developed its own No Smoking Policy as it understands the importance of creating a healthy environment for the patients. To provide a smoke-free environment to patients and their families, staff and visitors, the No Smoking Policy includes:
- The “4-Metre” rule
- Smoking is banned within 4 metres of a pedestrian entrance or exit from a FV building.
- Non-smoking
- Smoking is prohibited in all areas within FV Hospital and FV Saigon Clinic, except in designated smoking areas located outside the buildings.
- Designated smoking areas:
- Terrace garden on the 3rd floor of the F Building
- Outside the Accident & Emergency Department
- Outside the Indochine Lobby
- Entrance of the car parking, at the corner under the cantilever of F Building.
- Hygiene procedure at smoking areas:
- Ash-trays to be regularly emptied
- Ensure regular cleaning of cigarette butts.
