Pharmacists: Companions on the Healthcare Journey

This year’s theme from the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) highlights the steadfast role of pharmacists throughout the patient care journey, from ensuring medication quality and promoting rational drug use to supporting the development of treatment regimens that safeguard accuracy, continuity, and effectiveness.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Pham Ngoc Xuan Son, Deputy Head of Pharmacy, shared: “I believe we have had a productive year, bringing many benefits to FV patients. I hope each member of the Pharmacy Department will continue to improve every day to achieve even greater accomplishments.” In an increasingly demanding healthcare environment, pharmacists play an irreplaceable role in ensuring the rational, accurate, and continuous use of medicines.

Mr Mohd Fazli Shuib, Director of Quality and Risk Management and Head of Pharmacy, emphasised that FV highly values the work of its pharmacists, with each individual striving to perform at their best. “We must continuously enhance our expertise, fuelled by passion and experience, to deliver the greatest possible value to our patients,” he said.

Raising Professional Standards Through Passion and Expertise

Pharmacists oversee the entire medication-use process, from importation to distribution, while safeguarding patient safety through clear guidance on proper use. At FV, clinical pharmacists also play a vital role in developing and optimising treatment regimens, managing antibiotic stewardship, and contributing to more effective, comprehensive care.

On behalf of the two groups working most closely with pharmacists, doctors and nurses, Dr Vu Truong Son, MSc, Medical Director, and Mrs Lee Poh Lian, Nursing Director, expressed their gratitude and reaffirmed the close collaboration between clinical teams and pharmacists to keep patient safety as the top priority.

World Pharmacists Day is not only a moment to recognise past achievements but also a prompt for FV’s pharmacists to keep advancing their expertise, refining processes, and mastering technology to meet the ever-rising demands of modern healthcare. On this special occasion, FV Hospital extends its best wishes to all pharmacists and their families for health, happiness, and continued success.
