Over a six-day period at the end of March 2025, FV Hospital was present at Thanh Long Sports Centre in Ho Chi Minh City to accompany the Asia Pacific Rugby Cup, an annual international sporting event for secondary school students from across the Asia-Pacific region. Embracing the spirit of sportsmanship and multicultural exchange, this year’s tournament brought together more than 380 young athletes, both boys and girls, aged between 11 and 18.

The 2025 tournament featured 33 youth rugby teams competing in the U13, U15, and U18 categories. Seven-a-side rugby matches were held continuously across two adjacent fields. During the initial days (March 24–26), two matches were played simultaneously each day, while in the later stages (March 28–30), games were held back-to-back, with more than 40 players rotating on the field at peak times. This intense schedule placed significant pressure on FV’s medical team in terms of personnel coordination and operations to ensure timely and effective support.
As the official medical sponsor of the tournament, FV Hospital mobilised a medical team including doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers, and coordinators to work closely with the organisers in ensuring the safety of all participating athletes. Both playing fields were staffed with on-duty nurses, and a fully equipped medical station was set up between the two pitches. This station was outfitted with essential first-aid supplies such as stretchers, splints, cold spray, pain relief medication, and a standby ambulance, ready to respond to any serious injuries.
Beyond providing timely intervention for common sports injuries such as abrasions, sprains, and dislocations, FV’s medical team also helped promote greater awareness of sports health and responsible competition among young athletes. “It’s fantastic that our tournaments consistently receive such dedicated and professional medical support from FV Hospital. It gives our athletes peace of mind and allows the games to run smoothly and with great spirit” said Mr. Ben, representative of the Asia Pacific Rugby Cup 2025 organising committee.

In addition to providing medical sponsorship, FV Hospital has been a long standing partner of Lycée Français Marguerite Duras International School in supporting this annual tournament. Through this collaboration, FV not only delivers professional medical assistance but also aims to raise awareness of sports safety and promote a spirit of positive competition among young athletes particularly within the international community living in Vietnam.
The resilience and fiery determination displayed by the youth teams created an exciting and inspiring atmosphere throughout this year’s event. Notably, the tournament was marked by fair play, with no serious injuries reported. In the final results, the boys’ team from Bangkok claimed the U13 championship, while the U15 and U18 boys’ titles went to two teams from Singapore. On the girls’ side, the U15 and U18 champions were both teams representing Ho Chi Minh City.
FV Hospital’s continued presence at international sporting events such as the Asia Pacific Rugby Cup 2025 reaffirms its status as a trusted medical partner for event organisers. More importantly, it reflects FV’s strong commitment to supporting the development of school sports and contributing to the healthcare of the international community in Vietnam.
