International Nurses Day on the 12th of May is an annual event celebrated worldwide to say thank you to the contribution nursing staff make to patients every day. The day was chosen as it is the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, with this year being her 200th birthday. Since the establishment of the hospital, the FV’s nursing team have always made incredible contributions and are considered an essential arm of doctors in providing safe and effective healthcare to patients.
This year in particular, with the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, we have witnessed the incredible challenges nurses are facing worldwide. Without nurses and other healthcare workers, FV knows the hospital would not be able to safely overcome the disease. It is also an affirmation of the quality of FV’s nursing team in providing safety and effective care to patients.
The ceremony was organized with the participation of representatives from the Board of Directors and the Head of Nursing. Board members congratulated, presented flowers and fruits and wished the nursing staff good health. Dr Do Trong Khanh, Medical Director expressed: “For me, if there are no nurses, there is no hospital. Simply put, patients need constant observation and healthcare when coming to a hospital and the nurse is the person who fulfils this essential role. I, and all the members of the Board of Directors, really appreciate all the incredible work they do”.
For this year’s International Nurses Day, the FV Family once again wished all the nursing staff good health and joy. The hospital always appreciates the efforts and unwavering commitment of the nurses to their patients.
