At noon on 26th April; the 4th Wednesday of April, FV Hospital organised an event to celebrate World Secretary Day. The celebration took place in a friendly and joyful atmosphere, with the attendance of members of the Board of Directors and more than 120 staff from the medical secretaries, assistants and administrative staff who support our patients.
The event started with a dance performance by the nursing team of the Outpatient Department. It was an impressive gift from the nursing team who had prepared it as a surprise for the World Secretary’s Day event.
On behalf of the FV Board of Directors, Ms Pham Thi Thanh Mai (COO) gave the opening speech: “I think that the work of doctors and the management team will be impossible without the support from the secretary and assistants. I hope that you keep seeing the value of secretarial work, love the profession and have joy at work.” After 20 years of working at FV, Ms Thanh Mai is always proud of her secretarial work. To her, the professionalism of secretaries represents a wonderful image of the hospital to patients and everyone working at FV.
Ms Thanh Mai said that after 20 years she is still an efficient secretary of FV
Responding to the congratulations and expectations from the Board of Directors, Ms Nguyen Thi Minh Thu, who has worked for 20 years at FV and is one of the first generation of medical secretaries in Vietnam, said: “This job helps us to work and learn from doctors. We learn both medical information and their skills in language, behaviour, and problem solving”. The sincere thoughts of Ms Minh Thu ignited the love for work and the joy at work for everyone in the auditorium.
The medical secretary job has been regulated by FV and become a professional career, said Ms Thu
The event also had stories from other experienced assistants who have effectively supported the members of the Board of Directors. “Working for more than 10 years in various secretarial positions, I have developed my abilities every day. I hope that my colleagues will always make effort to learn and develop in their careers,” said Ms Le Thi Kim Khanh (Medical Director Assistant)

This year, in order to help the secretarial community at FV better understand the profession and recognise the values of the job, the event included a session by speaker Ms Carina Oanh Hoang. Carina’s charming and engaging presentation brought new knowledge of the secretarial profession, and helped the audience see the value in their exceptional work.
