FV Hospital, now equipped with the Storz Modulith SLK – a latest generation of lithotripter and offers 30% discount for lithotripter packages
Patients with nephrolithiasis, ureteral stones and bladder stones can now benefit from treatment with the latest generation of lithotripter, the German-manufactured Storz Modulith SLK, at FV Hospital’s Urology Department. From February 5 to March 30, 2018, FV will offer a discount of 30% on the cost of crushing stones via the skin using this technology – an effective, painless form of treatment which helps patients to save money when compared to other traditional forms of treatment.
Dr Do Quang Minh, head of Urology at FV Hospital, says another benefit to crushing stones via the skin is that there’s no risk of damage to neighboring organs. The Storz Modulith SLK machine is quiet and easy to move, which means it is easier to locate and crush the stone through the skin wherever it is located the kidney and ureter, helping to shorten treatment time. The patient can be discharged the same day and return to work within one or two days. Because no general anaesthetic is required, patients do not need to be concerned about any complications resulting from anaesthesia.
The Storz Modulith SLK can treat all types of stone smaller than two centimetres, including nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), ureteral stones and bladder stones, with a very low percentage of patients experiencing symptoms after the stone is crushed. The Storz Modulith breaks stones using a magnetic field controlled by a technician via a computer screen which offers three-dimensional optical and ultrasonic viewing to facilitate accurate positioning. The lithotriptor’s powerful shock wave source means that stone are crushed within 30 minutes.
Patients are assured of satisfactory treatment when choosing this method of crushing stones through the skin due to the advanced equipment and team of experienced doctors from FV.
