(May 24, 2016) FV Hospital is entrusted to serve as the backup hospital for the President of the United States, Barack Obama, during his two-day visit to Ho Chi Minh City on the 24th and 25th of May, 2016.
To be appointed as the backup hospital for President Obama and his entourage, one of the prerequisites is that FV Hospital has obtained the international healthcare certificate JCI. Upon being named in the shortlist proposed to the White House by the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, FV Hospital had been visited and assessed comprehensively by two medical specialists of the White House Medical Unit before they made the decision. They turned out to be very impressed by the professionalism of FV Hospital in District 7.
Two medical specialists, including Mr. Abraham Media – Tactical Medical Officer, shared with FV Hospital CEO – Dr Jean-Marcel Guillon, and Medical Director – Dr John Lucas, that they felt completely confident with FV Hospital’s facilities and services.
One of FV Hospital’s ambulances, which is fully equipped with medical equipment that could function as a mobile hospital, was assessed and approved by the White House. The medical team, comprised of Dr Trinh Van Hai, Head of Accident and Emergency Department, nurse Nguyen Thanh Son and driver Nguyen Ngoc Huy, were chosen to escort President Obama and his entourage on the 24th and 25th, May 2016. Mr. Hai asserts that as a Head of Department with many years of experience, he is completely confident to fulfill this duty. Nurse Nguyen Thanh Son also takes pride in accompanying his Head of Department in this important event, and in being entrusted to this mission for the first time.
