FV Hospital is entrusted by the French Presidential Palace (Élysée Palace) to serve as the support hospital for the President of France, François Hollande, during his two-day visit to Ho Chi Minh City on the 6th and 7th of September, 2016.
The mission follows the JCI-accredited hospital’s role as the backup hospital for United States President Barack Obama during his two-day visit to the city on the 24th and 25th of this May.
Dr Benoit Houze from the Élysée Palace came to meet with FV Hospital CEO Dr Jean-Marcel Guillon on July 27 for a survey and thereafter chose FV as the support hospital for the Presidential visit, a trip aiming at advancing the two countries’ strategic partnership.
France and Vietnam have in recent years seen their economic relations being strongly promoted, together with a bright outlook ahead. France is Vietnam’s fifth largest trade partner in Europe, just behind Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and Italy. In terms of investment, France is now the third largest European investor in Vietnam, with valid projects worth over USD3.4 billion, ranking 16th among countries and territories investing in Vietnam, according to official statistics. FV Hospital is a French-backed project popular among the local and foreign communities.
FV is a leading general hospital of international standards in Southeast Asia and its founders include French doctors. The hospital has state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. One of FV Hospital’s ambulances, which is fully outfitted with medical equipment that can function as a small mobile hospital, will serve the French visitors together with the medical team including Dr Pham Luu Nhat Hoang, Deputy Head of Accident & Emergency Department, Dr Pham Duc Tuan, nurse Nguyen Thanh Son and driver Bui Xuan The Hien. Entrusted to this mission, they would escort President Hollande and his entourage on the 6th and 7th of September.

To be appointed as the backup hospital for United States President Obama and his entourage this May, one of the prerequisites was that FV Hospital has obtained the JCI accreditation.
