Dr. Nguyen Cong Kiem with almost 30 years’ experience has officially assumed his role as Deputy Head of Gastro-Enterology & Hepatology at FV Hospital, starting on January 9, 2017.
Dr. Kiem graduated with a Medical Doctor degree in Internal Medicine from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1987. Dr. Kiem then received a Specialisation Degree Level 1 in Internal Medicine in 1993, also from this University. In 2006, Dr. Kiem obtained a Specialisation Degree Level 2 in Internal Medicine from Vietnam Military Medical University in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, Dr. Kiem completed many advanced training sessions in the field of general ultrasonography, O&G ultrasonography, colour doppler ultrasonography, gastroenterologic endoscopy, obesity treatment by endoscopy and laparotomy, endoscopic ultrasonography and diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis.
“Diseases in gastro-enterology and hepatology are more popular than before, with the number of patients continously increasing. Therefore, the responsibility of doctors in this field is to deliver the best treatments and best results we can,” he says.
Dr. Kiem has had more than 28 years of experience in Internal Medicine, particularly in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Kiem also has management experience – during his 25 years at An Binh Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, he worked for seven years as deputy head and 10 years as head of the Gastroenterology & Hepatology Department.
In his new role as deputy head of FV Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Dr. Kiem provides consultation and treatment (medical and surgical) to patients who suffer from gastroenterological and hepatological diseases.
