For the third time, the Give Blood, Give Hope Programme, second time this year, was held from 7:30 to 12:00, on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. The blood donation drive, organised by FV Hospital in collaboration with the Haematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital, had a wonderful festival vibe with the participation of 140 donors, providing more than 187 units to help the community.
In fact, the number of people who came to donate blood was higher than 140, but unfortunately there were cases where some donors did not meet the required health standards, or were late due to work commitments. For such cases, the organizers took their details and will let them know when the next drive will take place. In addition, this blood donation drive was held in the Auditorium, having more space and more seats to speed up the waiting time to donate.
The programme received an enthusiastic response from FV staff, doctors, security guards, janitors to customers, who together provided a fantastic effort in donating much needed blood for those in need. At the drive, a doctor from the Accident and Emergency Department, Dr Trinh Van Hai, who had donated blood many times before, shared; “I am satisfied with the blood drive. Everything is run well and professionally from the personnel to the onsite facilities. Also, the procedure from the examination to the time of the blood donation is very quick”. Additionally, Ms Tran Thi Thuy, from the security department said; “This is a very good activity to help the poor and sick, so I always join in with the hospital’s blood donation programme”.
Donating blood is not harmful to a person’s health, but actually can be beneficial as the body will regenerate new blood which will be fresher and better for the body. The organisers of the programme would like to send a big thanks to the blood donors who participated in the blood donation. All their amazing support has been incredible in helping the community.
