Despite injections being a challenging experience for some, many members of the FV Family still participated in Give Blood, Give Hope, the 4th blood drive held by FV Hospital. With the knowledge of how donating blood can save a life, over a hundred and fifty members of the FV Family came together to support the community.
Organized by FV Hospital and Haematology Blood Transfusion Hospital, the blood drive took place from 7:30am to 12:00pm on 15th May 2020. At the end of the program, FV Hospital donated 223 blood units for community.
In recent years, the Give Blood, Give Hope programme at FV Hospital attracted many FV staff to take part. Knowing how donation blood can help patients, and that it additionally brings health benefits for the donors, FV staff are very excited to take part in.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Health in Vietnam, there is a 40 percent shortage of donated blood for use in treating emergencies. Many medical treatment methods simply cannot be used without donated blood. It is incredibly important. Organisers of the blood drive really appreciate those who came by to donate this year, knowing how giving blood can take up time, and be physically demanding.
A huge thank you goes out to all those who donated. We really appreciate the FV Family, who are always so enthusiastic to support such initiatives to help the local community.
