Empathy towards patients is a key focus for Ms Sylvie and her colleagues.
Following this, Dr Nguyen Viet Quynh Thu, Head of Nutrition and Dietetics Department, shared her insights on the essential role of allied health professionals, particularly the nutrition specialists working in her department. International Allied Health Professions Day is celebrated annually on 14th October. This global event was initiated in 2018 by two clinical doctors in the UK as a social movement on Twitter to honour the dedication and efforts of all allied health professionals (AHPs). It is now celebrated and recognised in many countries around the world.
Allied health professions typically include specialists in the disciplines of physiotherapy, imaging, optometry and refraction, nuclear medicine, oncology, nutrition, psychology, and more.
