OCTOBER TEA TALKS WITH EXPERTS: PRACTICAL, CONFIDENCE-BUILDING GUIDANCE TO WELCOME YOUR NEWBORN

A warm afternoon where expectant mothers and their loved ones set aside daily worries of everyday life to listen, share, and enjoy quiet moments over tea, with gentle piano melodies and welcoming smiles.

In the cosy atmosphere of Café de Paris at FV Hospital, nearly 50 expectant mothers and their families attended the Tea Talks with Experts session, themed “Preparing for Labour – Confidence for the Big Day.”

More than just a medical talk, the session offered practical guidance and reassurance, helping mothers feel more confident, understood, and fully prepared to welcome their baby into the world.

Opening the programme, Ms Tran Thi Thanh Trang, Head Midwife of FV Thomson Maternity, drew on over 33 years’ experience supporting thousands of mothers through childbirth to guide participants through every detail, from packing for the hospital and recognising the signs of labour to staying calm at each stage of delivery.

Her words offered reassurance and confidence: “As long as mothers prepare carefully and keep a relaxed mind, everything will become much easier and smoother.”

A special highlight of the event was that expectant mothers had the chance to see the exclusive FV Maternity Gift Set up close, thoughtfully prepared for new mums. The set included essential items such as newborn clothing, nappies, wet wipes, maternity pads, disposable underwear and more, all neatly arranged in a chic and stylish tote bag. This gift is part of FV Thomson’s attentive postnatal care service, meticulously designed to support mothers in the very first days after giving birth.

Following this, Ms Nguyen Vo Minh Hien, Psychologist at FV’s Clinical Psychology Department, created a warm, focused atmosphere for the participants. Beyond sharing valuable insights on pre- and postnatal mental wellbeing, she guided mothers through practical exercises to help them connect with themselves and their babies:

  • Tea meditation: to calm the mind, focus on breathing, and find peace in each moment.
  • Drawing and journaling: to express love, dreams and emotions for themselves and their little ones through gentle words and strokes of colour.
  • Gentle stretching: to help the body relax, bringing comfort and ease throughout pregnancy.

The atmosphere became even more lively during the Q&A session. Expectant mothers asked questions, shared common concerns, and received thoughtful, practical advice from both speakers. Every story and reflection was heard with care, helping mothers feel more confident, calm, and supported on their journey to motherhood.

Afterwards, the mothers enjoyed a tour of the FV Thomson Maternity Ward, learning about the birth process and visiting the modern delivery rooms and cosy postnatal rest areas, where many first moments take place.

The afternoon tea concluded with laughter, warm smiles, and meaningful gifts for the mothers: a stylish tote bag, nutritious maternity milk, lactation tea, and a birth voucher worth VND 3,000,000 redeemable at FV Thomson.

It was an afternoon filled not only with knowledge but also with love and care.
