Shining star of Feb 2025

The Shining Star of February 2025 has been awarded to Mr Tran Huu Vinh, a seasoned Senior Communication Officer from the Marketing & Communications Department. Vinh is a familiar face at internal events, in hospital publications, and behind many of the small yet impactful contributions that support FV’s day-to-day operations. His colleagues value his sense of responsibility, quiet dedication, and consistent team spirit across every project he takes on.

Joining FV in October 2019, Vinh began his journey as a temporary staff member. Over time, he progressed from assisting with events and managing document designs to taking on his current role as a Communication Officer – advancing through continuous self-improvement. “At FV, every workday feels comfortable and is an opportunity for me to grow. I want my work to connect people and indirectly help patients better understand their treatment,” Vinh shared.

During his time at FV, Vinh once considered exploring other roles within the hospital, such as an assistant or a project development officer – not out of boredom, but from a desire to learn, challenge himself, and gain deeper insights into the institution he is committed to. His open-mindedness and eagerness to grow have allowed him to bring fresh perspectives and add even greater value to his team, particularly in his current role.

After more than five years at FV, the hospital has been both a fortunate encounter and a deliberate choice for Vinh. He still vividly recalls the invaluable support FV provided to his family during the most difficult months of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh City. “FV ensured that my mother, who has a frail constitution, received an early vaccination. Later, when she fell ill, FV’s doctors provided her wholehearted care. That was when FV helped my family score a 1-0 victory over life’s challenges,” he recalled. That moment remains a cherished memory and one of the key reasons why Vinh holds FV in such high regard – a workplace rooted in compassion and strong humanitarian values.

From organising staff programmes to meticulously reviewing every line of hospital documents, Vinh likens his role to a “roundabout” at a busy intersection – constantly connecting departments, coordinating workflows, and ensuring smooth communication. Not many FV Family members have the opportunity to work directly with both warehouse staff and the hospital’s CEO. For Vinh, this unique aspect makes every day at FV engaging, as supporting others in their work is always a chance to learn something new.

Five years at FV have also taught Vinh an invaluable life lesson: empathy. “I used to have difficulties getting along with my mother. But after witnessing the patience and kindness of FV’s nurses towards their patients, I asked myself: ‘Why can strangers show such compassion to one another?’” Vinh reflected. Since then, his approach to both work and life has gradually shifted – embracing a deeper sense of understanding and empathy.

The FV Shining Star Award for February 2025 is a well-deserved recognition of Tran Huu Vinh’s quiet yet steadfast dedication. We wish him continued success in his journey – one marked by commitment, lifelong learning, and the spirit of empathy – values he has discovered and nurtured during his time at FV.
