Mr Phan Tan Hien, a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, has devoted over 22 years of his career to FV Hospital, having been with the institution since its earliest days in 2002. His dedication, spirit of continuous learning, and philosophy of always prioritising patient safety have earned him the title of FV’s Shining Star of September 2025.
Joining FV in 2002, when the hospital was still an ambitious international project located in a sparsely developed area, was a bold decision for a recent graduate like him. Yet for Mr Hien, FV has always been a place of professionalism, structured training, and constant innovation.
At that time, Nuclear Medicine was still a very young specialty in Vietnam, available in only a few leading hospitals. “FV provided every opportunity for our first team to gain advanced knowledge and skills through training with international experts and French physicians. I remain deeply grateful for those early years,” shared Mr Hien.
Mr Hien’s strong attachment to FV for more than two decades stems from several factors. Firstly, Nuclear Medicine is a modern and ever-evolving field that allows him to work with diverse medical specialities and conditions, continually expanding his experience and expertise.
Equally important is the long-lasting bond of camaraderie. “I’ve received offers from elsewhere, but I chose to stay,” he said. “I truly value my work here, and it’s hard to find colleagues like the ones I have at FV.” The Nuclear Medicine Department is a small but deeply connected team, where Mr Hien, Mr Tam, and Dr Te have worked side by side for over twenty years, like a second family.
Reflecting on his 22-year journey at FV, Mr Hien is most proud of the near-absolute safety that FV ensures for its patients. He believes that every department works closely together with one shared goal: patient well-being. This philosophy has been his lifelong motivation, to “treat every patient as if they were his own family.”
Whether patients arrive late or during his lunch break, Mr Hien always makes time to assist them. Quietly, he spends extra moments preparing or fine-tuning equipment to ensure the most accurate and safest diagnostic and treatment outcomes. His meticulousness has earned him the trust of both his colleagues and his patients.
Once again, FV Hospital warmly congratulates Mr Phan Tan Hien on being named FV’s Shining Star of September 2025. His 22-year journey stands as a lasting legacy at FV, showing that genuine dedication to others creates enduring and meaningful value.
