On 20 September 2025, FV Hospital hosted the “Tea Talk with Doctors” programme at Café de Paris – Indochine Lobby, G Floor, welcoming nearly 30 expectant mothers and their families for an interactive sharing session. Centred on the theme “Modern and Safe Labour Methods”, Vo Trieu Dat, MD, MSc, Head of FV Thomson Maternity, drew on nearly 20 years of experience in obstetrics and provided valuable information and guidance to participants.

Welcoming the expectant mothers was the gentle sound of live piano music, accompanied by a delightful selection of teas and pastries specially prepared by FV Bistro’s chefs. These thoughtful touches created an inviting atmosphere where mothers-to-be could relax, share conversations and connect with one another in comfort.

As part of the programme, Vo Trieu Dat, MD, MSc, Head of FV Thomson Maternity, introduced common childbirth methods, outlining the advantages and limitations of each. He also highlighted recent advances designed to make labour gentler, including Water Labour – a new service introduced at FV in March 2025 that provides numerous benefits:
- Natural pain relief: Warm water helps the body relax, soothes contractions, and effectively reduces pain.
- Enhanced mobility: The water environment offers comfort and allows mothers to easily change positions, supporting smoother foetal movement.
- Shorter labour duration: Research and practical experience show that water labour can significantly shorten the process, making delivery faster and more efficient.
- Reduced medical intervention: As a natural childbirth method, it lowers the need for pain medication or unnecessary medical procedures, supporting safe, natural processes.
- Comfortable, private experience: Expectant mothers can enjoy a sense of reassurance, privacy, and relaxation, similar to a premium spa experience.

The programme not only delivered in-depth medical knowledge but also offered practical support for expectant mothers and their families. Participants had the opportunity to consult directly with the obstetricians and ask questions, then tour FV’s delivery and postpartum facilities to better understand the birthing environment, and connect with other mothers-to-be to share experiences. These activities helped build confidence and reassurance, providing peace of mind as the mothers prepared to welcome their little ones.
