From now until December 31, 2018, the Children of Vietnam Charitable Fund will cooperate with FV Hospital to offer free of charge treatment for children in difficult circumstances with cardiovascular diseases.
Children with congenital diseases who are born into difficult circumstances are at a huge disadvantage when it comes to receiving care – diagnosis and treatment are often too expensive for their families or communities to afford.
The Children of Vietnam Charitable Fund has been established to help disadvantaged children in receiving the care they need to have the chance of living a normal life.
So that more children can receive assistance, the Children of Vietnam Charitable Fund is calling on communities across Vietnam to nominate youngsters in need. Eligible patients will be:
- Children aged from two to 16 years, especially those from families in impoverished circumstances.
- Children with congenital heart diseases such as ventricular septal defects, atrial fibrillation, ductus arteriosus, pulmonary embolism and a narrowed aorta; as well as congenital malformations in lymph nodes and blood vessels in the hands, feet, body, and face.
Surgeries will be performed via intravascular intervention at FV Hospital’s Cath-lab. Young patients will be treated by leading, highly experienced cardiologists, such as Head of Cardiology Dr Huynh Ngoc Long and Dr Luong Ngoc Trung of FV’s Thoracic & Vascular Surgery Department.
Doctors will review the cases of all children nominated before screening and selecting those patients who will benefit from cardiac intervention. Initially, the programme will provide cardiac intervention treatment for 10 children.
If you have any information about impoverished children living with heart disease, please inform us via our Facebook Fanpage or contact Ms Dong Phuong (Phone number: 090 906 7718, available on Zalo and Viber).
