World leading Dr Louis Brasseur, who has almost 40 years of experience in anaesthesiology and pain evaluation and management, has joined FV Hospital’s Anesthesiology, Intensive Care & Pain Control as Head of Pain Control Unit.
Dr Louis Brasseur earned his medical doctor degree from Paris-Sud University in 1979. He then pursued a specialisation certificate in Anesthesiology and Reanimation from the University of Paris Descartes (Paris V) and a specialisation certificate in Pain Evaluation and Management from Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI).
As a practicing physician with a keen focus on anesthesiology and pain control, Dr Louis Brasseur was responsible for the Pain Evaluation and Management Centre while working as a clinical pain specialist for Ambroise Pare Hospital from 1992 to 2008; he fulfilled a similar role at Institute Curie – René Huguenin Hospital from 2008 to 2011 and more recently he worked at Bichat Hospital from 2011 until 2015.
Dr Brasseur practiced as a locum anaesthesiology doctor in many hospitals and clinics across France, including Val D’or Clinic, Ambroise Pare Hospital, Poitiers Hospital and Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital.

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr Louis Brasseur also participates in many research projects and is a gifted teacher, lecturing both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in pain management and anaesthesia.
In his new role at FV Hospital, Dr Louis Brasseur will oversee FVH Pain Control Clinic, developing it as the best professional pain management service in the region in line with JCI standards.
