Launching FV’s 2026 recognition journey, the January Shining Star title has been awarded to Ms Pham Qui An, a dedicated Recruitment Specialist from the Human Resources Department.

Since joining FV in December 2022, Ms An has brought with her years of experience as a headhunter for multinational corporations. She then chose to take on a completely new challenge by moving into the healthcare industry.

At FV, Ms An is responsible for recruiting non-medical support and service staff, as well as managing labour relations and contracts. Handling a significant workload, averaging 10 to 15 new hires per month, she describes her role as a search for the right “puzzle pieces” to complete the FV Family.

What earns Ms An the trust of her colleagues and line managers is not only her ability to close recruitment needs efficiently, but also her genuine empathy. She sees both candidates and departments as her clients, while at the same time recognising them as future colleagues.

To ensure the right fit, she avoids “sugar-coating” roles. Instead, she speaks openly about the unique pressures of working in healthcare. She understands that at FV, technical skills alone are not enough; staff must also have a strong service mindset and genuine compassion for patients, many of whom are already navigating significant health challenges.

Her journey of over three years at FV has not been without its challenges. There were moments of doubt, and even the temptation to give up, when faced with the high-pressure demands of an international hospital operating under JCI standards. What kept her grounded was the understanding of her leaders and the strong support of her teammates. She shared: “Whenever I face difficulties or feel like giving up, I always remind myself why I started. Instead of focusing on what is missing, I look for the positive and meaningful aspects that the work brings.”

Beyond recruitment, Ms An serves as a steady source of support for new staff, especially as they navigate the challenges of their initial transition. She listens, offers guidance, and helps them find “the bright spots within a darker picture,” encouraging them to stay committed and confident in their roles. For Ms An, FV is more than just a workplace. It is also a place that provides peace of mind for her own family through firsthand healthcare experiences.

The January 2026 Shining Star award for Ms Pham Qui An is a well-deserved recognition of a dedicated connector who works with a strong sense of shared purpose and does not shy away from challenges.
