As of 1st November 2023, Dr Luong Ngoc Trung was officially appointed as the Head of the Thoracic, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Department at FV Hospital following six years of dedicated service where he has devoted himself to patient care and the development of the hospital.
Dr Luong Ngoc Trung graduated from University of Medicine, Hue City, in 2001. After that, he earned a Master of Science, General, Thoracic & Vascular Surgery at Hue University of Medicine in 2005. During 2006-2007, Dr Trung achieved a fellowship to become a resident doctor in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Paul-Sabatier University of Medicine, Toulouse France where he graduated in 2007.
In 2016, Dr Trung received a Board Certification in Cardiovascular Surgery and Endovascular Intervention from Pierre and Marie Curie University of Medicine (Paris VI), France. He then became a resident physician in Pitié- Salpêtriere hospital.
Dr Trung served as a Senior Consultant, Cardiovascular Surgery, Tam Duc Cardiology Hospital Ho Chi Minh city for eight years and at Hue Central Hospital for five years before joining FV Hospital in 2017. He is highly qualified and experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases, endovascular intervention, cardiac and thoracic surgery, as well as general surgery.
With extensive medical experience and a commitment to patient care, Dr Luong Ngoc Trung has invested significant time and effort in building and developing the Department of Thoracic, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at FV Hospital. The department is now well-known, trusted, and chosen by many patients. Notably, Dr Luong Ngoc Trung is recognised for his heartfelt dedication to children in difficult circumstances who require treatment. He has worked extensively with the Children of Vietnam Charitable Fund founded by FV Hospital. Over the years, Dr Trung has actively contributed to the Foundation’s activities, successfully treating children with vascular malformations, haemangioma, chest depressions, and more.
In near future, Dr Trung aims to develop the department into a Centre for Thoracic, Vascular, and Endovascular Surgery, equipped with modern minimally invasive treatment technology. This initiative aims to enhance treatment efficiency, minimise complications, reduce hospital stays, and, most importantly, optimise the quality of life for patients.
