On the afternoon of 25th September 2024, FV Hospital organised a ceremony to celebrate World Pharmacists Day, with the theme “Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs.” The event received enthusiastic participation from members of the Pharmacy Department and many representatives from other departments. The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) selected this year’s theme to honour the crucial role of pharmacists in addressing global healthcare needs.
Pharmacists – An Indispensable Factor in the Global Healthcare System
At the event, the representatives from the hospital management, including Dr Vu Truong Son (Acting Medical Director) and Mr Mohd Fazli Shuib (Quality and Risk Management Director cum Head of Pharmacy Department), extended their sincere thanks to the entire team of pharmacists. Mr Fazli shared: “I am extremely proud of the Pharmacy Department team. You have provided FV Hospital patients with comprehensive, safe, and internationally recognised care.” He also emphasised the increasingly important role of pharmacists for responding to global health crises.
Mr Mohd Fazli Shuib emphasised the importance of pharmacists in the healthcare system.
Dr Vu Truong Son expressed gratitude to the FV pharmacist team for their contributions
Similarly, the FIP highlighted the role that pharmacists play in ensuring the supply of essential medicines, guiding optimal drug use, and actively participating in community healthcare. This is particularly essential in regions with limited healthcare resources, where pharmacists often serve as the first point of contact in primary healthcare systems.
Therefore, it is clear that pharmacists are not just suppliers or researchers of medicines, but also healthcare consultants and leaders for implementing preventive measures and managing the safe use of pharmaceuticals.
Strong Collaboration Brings Benefits to Patients
With their expertise, over 4 million pharmacists worldwide are involved in various essential tasks. These include significant contributions to the development and research of new medicines, rational use of antibiotics, and participation in public health campaigns.
Ms Xuan Son shared her pride in being part of a professional healthcare environment
Ms Pham Ngoc Xuan Son, Deputy Head of Pharmacy expressed her gratitude for the care and congratulations from FV’s staff. She also shared her pride in working in a professional environment where pharmacists not only ensure medication safety but also contribute to improving the overall quality of healthcare for patients. Ms Son is confident that the Pharmacy Department team will continue to work closely together and create new successes individually, hospital wide, and for the pharmaceutical industry.
The FV Pharmacy team is dynamic and passionate.
FV Hospital extends heartfelt thanks to the entire Pharmacy Department and their global colleagues for their significant contributions to improving public health and building a sustainable healthcare system. FV wishes all pharmacists and their family good health, happiness, and continued success in their noble profession!
World Pharmacists Day was established on 25th September during the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) meeting in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2010. The goal is to encourage and honour the role of pharmacists in improving global public health.
