Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women and the leading cause of cancer death. It affects women over the age of 40 yet is skewing steadily younger in today’s society. Most patients have no obvious clinical symptoms, so breast cancer is often detected late, at a stage when the chance going into full remission is very low. However, breast cancer is completely curable if detected early and treated promptly.
To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, FV Hospital is offering a 30 per cent discount on its breast cancer screening programme from October 1, 2022, to October 31, 2022. Typically priced at VND 1,920,000, this month women can undergo screening for the reduced price of VND 1,344,000.
Why should you undergo regular breast cancer screening?
- Breast cancer screening is the best way to detect early stage tumours, allowing doctors to develop effective treatment regimens while preserving a patient’s natural aesthetics while drastically reducing mortality rates.
- Women should have regular clinical examinations with their doctors. Specifically, women between the ages of 25 and 39 should visit a doctor every one to three years, and women aged 40 and over should go for an annual check-up.
- Women over 40 years of age are recommended to have a mammogram at least once a year for as long as they are in good health.
- Women with a family history of cancer, genetic predisposition, or other factors associated with breast cancer should be screened with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) along with a mammogram.
The screening programme includes:
- Mammography
- Consultation with a gynaecologist
This programme is applicable to:
- Women over 40 years of age
Notes:
- There is no need to fast or follow any particular diet prior to your visit. The best time to perform a mammography for non-menopausal patients is between the last day of your menstruation and two weeks before the first day of your next menstruation
- You will receive your results at FV’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department
- Other exams and additional tests are not included in this programme
