“Giving Birth at FV: Peace of Mind and Enjoyment Just Like at Home”

For me, the pregnancy journey and giving birth at FV Hospital was one filled with joy and happiness. Working at FV during my pregnancy gave me great peace of mind, as I always had doctors ready to support me at any time; I never had to worry, in fact, as my due date approached, I joked that I’d bring my hospital bag for childbirth early so that if I went into labour, I could just go upstairs to give birth without needing to take time off beforehand.

I’ve experienced many different departments at FV (whether that’s lucky or not, I am not sure), but the Maternity Ward was the one I hadn’t yet experienced. The maternity area at our hospital is beautiful, like a resort. Since I often recommend the services and rooms here to patients, I was very excited to experience it for myself.

The feeling of giving birth at the hospital where I work was truly special. The midwives at FV were so lovely and wholeheartedly supported me and my baby. As it was my first time giving birth, I had no experience and couldn’t understand my baby’s signals, but the midwives were continuously patient, carefully guiding and looking after the two of us. I’ve heard friends talk about their traumatic experiences giving birth at other hospitals, leaving them apprehensive to have more children; but for me, it was the complete opposite. The environment at FV is clean, comfortable, cool, and the staff are friendly, a far cry from what I had imagined childbirth to be like.

One of the greatest benefits of giving birth at my workplace is that I could see a doctor any time I had a health concern, so throughout my pregnancy, I never had to worry about mine or my baby’s health. Plus, what made it even more enjoyable were my colleagues who often dropped by during their lunch breaks to visit me and the baby, this really cheered me up.

There were, as expected, a few challenges, or minor inconveniences, such as the policy of leaving work an hour early in the later stages of pregnancy (from around 28 weeks) not being applicable to all staff, or the discomfort of sitting all day when heavily pregnant, which sometimes made me feel tired and caused back pain. But I always received enthusiastic support from management and colleagues; this helped me overcome these difficulties.

In short, I can truly say that giving birth at FV felt like an enjoyable experience!

“A Special Memory”

People often say, “When you give birth, you’re crossing a threshold between life and death. You need to be alert and make careful decisions when choosing the hospital where your child will be born.” As a member of FV’s Pharmacy Department and a mother, I had a unique and memorable experience giving birth in the very place where I work.

Choosing to give birth at FV gave me great peace of mind, as I was familiar with the medical team and the processes here. I knew I would be cared for by dedicated and professional colleagues. My family has a history of allergic reactions to anaesthesia, so I was very anxious when I learned I would need a C-section. After much thought, I chose FV, the place I’ve been attached to for so long. The attentive care of my colleagues helped me feel much more at ease throughout the delivery. I had complete trust in Dr Ngo Trung Nam, who became my primary doctor. He was always considerate, friendly, and accompanied me every step of the way through my pregnancy. His advice and encouragement helped me overcome the challenges and fears of becoming a first-time mother.

The delivery room at FV is modern, clean, and comfortable. The spacious environment helped me relax and feel less stressed during the surgery. The soft lighting and dedicated care created a warm, pleasant atmosphere. It felt like giving birth abroad, with standard procedures and swift, professional handling of situations.

After giving birth, I felt exhausted and a bit unsure about caring for my new-born. But I was fortunate to have the medical team looking after both me and my baby with great care. They not only checked on our health but also provided me with lots of useful information on how to care for a new-born. My colleagues in the Maternity Ward were incredibly helpful, from looking after the baby at night, soothing him to sleep, feeding him, and allowing me time to rest and recover quickly.

The moment my baby was born is something I will never forget. I believe it was the most wonderful moment of my life. Choosing to give birth at the hospital where I work made this memory even more special. Surrounded by my close colleagues, sharing the joy and receiving so many congratulations, made it all the more unforgettable.

Giving birth is a challenging journey, but FV gave me an incredible feeling. Whenever I think back on that day, I feel so proud to have had this experience at FV, the place I choose to work, the place that prioritises its staff, and the place I trusted most to bring my child into the world. I’m truly grateful I had the oppertunity to give birth at FV, where I received the best care and created precious memories.

Dedicated and Thoughtful Care for Every Mother

As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I decided I would go to FV for prenatal care and to give birth, having worked here for over five years, I knew the examination and treatment procedures well and would make things very convenient for me; especially with colleagues who were always ready to cover my work when I had appointments. Ms Dung, the Maternity Ward secretary, was also very flexible with scheduling my check-ups, ensuring my work was not disrupted.

Being a first-time mother, I had many uncertainties about caring for a new-born, but the nurses and midwives in the Maternity Ward were incredibly supportive. I especially remember Nurse Huyen, who helped me a great deal, showing me how to breastfeed effectively and how to hold the baby in the correct position. It was amazing that my baby always cooperated and never cried during the health checks or vaccinations.

When my baby was born with a high CRP level, I was very worried, but thanks to the reassurance and timely updates from Nurse Huyen, both my husband and I felt much more at ease.

Another gesture that really impressed me was when the midwives and nurses brought me pain relief medication. They not only gave me the pills but also opened them and prepared a glass of water, handing everything to me. It’s these small yet warm and thoughtful details that made a lasting impression. Dr Nam was also very considerate, visiting me every morning. He would always knock or call ahead to make sure it was a good time before coming up to see me.

As an FV employee, I found it very convenient to receive prenatal care and give birth here. I didn’t have to worry about taking time off to go to another clinic or hospital, nor the hassle of travelling and waiting elsewhere. Everything at FV was arranged flexibly, making it easier for me to maintain a balance to work and health.

After giving birth, I truly felt the dedication of the doctors and nurses. Knowing the hospital’s procedures so well meant I encountered no difficulties throughout this experience. In fact, I only saw the benefits and faced no significant challenges.

I also feel fortunate that the hospital supported part of my childbirth costs, and with insurance coverage, the amount I had to pay was quite low compared to the actual costs. Yet, the care I received for both me and my baby was absolutely wonderful!
