The Shining Star of June 2024 is a dynamic young woman with a passion for healthcare; Ms Nguyen Thi My Hang. Hang’s daily effort not only bring her joy in helping others but is also recognition for her work. As she shared, “FV is a significant milestone in my life.”

From the very beginning of her exploration into healthcare careers, Ms Hang wanted to work at FV Hospital. Initially, the role of medical secretary did not impress her, but her determination to join FV and the experiences she gained day by day transformed her perspective. Over her more than two years at FV, Ms Hang has worked in various departments, each leaving her with valuable memories and experiences.

Currently positioned in the Pre-Anaesthesia Clinic, Ms Hang feels that this is where she truly belongs and thrives. She shares, “The colleagues at FV, especially the doctors, always show dedication and understanding toward patients. That image is part of why I love working at FV.” Medical secretaries, in addition to scheduling appointments for doctors and patients, often help patients prepare mentally and address their concerns, ensuring they feel more at ease, especially before surgery. This creates an ideal environment for Ms Hang to contribute and grow.

Regarding her recognition, Hang believes she still has room for improvement to fully embody the Shining Star title, but this acknowledgment has greatly encouraged her on her journey ahead. Young and energetic, every working day at FV offers her new lessons, from managing unexpected situations to empathising with patients’ stories. When reflecting on her experiences across different departments. “I enjoy a job that is flexible, dynamic, and multi-faceted. Although it can be very challenging at first, it allows me to further develop myself.”

Hang also considers herself fortunate to have received thorough guidance from her colleagues and doctors, making tasks that initially seemed daunting much simpler. She states, “I think about how I would want my own family members to be treated during a medical visit, which naturally fosters empathy within me.” This attitude makes her work more enjoyable and easier to connect with.
